Music Matches, Vol. 3

Grant

Okay everyone, it’s officially round 3 of our installment of music matches. November hit us hard with new music drops, and we have a fresh set of songs for you to get down with. If you have any great recommendations for our future posts, feel free to leave a comment or DM us with your current favorite tracks. Now let's get to the music!

1) 4th Baby Momma, Summer Walker- Summer Walker’s anticipated sophomore album has been talked about for a few years now, after her highly successful drop of “Over It” in 2019. This brand new album is absolutely full of personal anecdotes and emotions, but that is what makes it so good. This track specifically is one of the songs where she really had to air out some feelings… and we have no complaints!

2) Smokin’ Out the Window, Silk Sonic- Finally another heavenly track from the newest group, Silk Sonic! Their 70’s inspired disco R&B tracks sound like nothing on the radio right now, which is exactly why it’s on our top 5. Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak have made a new name for themselves that’s for sure to translate into a Grammy or 2 next year.

3) Tuned In Freestyle, Megan Thee Stallion- Miss Tina Snow just dropped some more heat off her mixtape “Something for Thee Hotties.” This culmination of 21 unreleased songs from her master collection is absolutely insane, to say the least. Her talent with writing and spitting absolute bars is just as refreshing as the fun beats layered behind them. A few honorable mentions from this album include “All of It, Megan’s Piano, and Megan Monday Freestyle.”

4) Californication (Feels Like I’m Falling In Love), Col3trane- One of the most underrated artists for the past few years has been Col3trane, an experimental European R&B and pop artist who has been working on his latest album “Trane of Thought.” This is slated to drop sometime this November, and we couldn’t be more excited. If you need a nice chill track, this one is for you.

5) Red-Eye (feat. TroyBoi), Justin Bieber- This track off Justin's album “Justice” was a surprising success, with major EDM beats layered over his smooth R&B lyricism which created a nice back and forth feeling. Over the years, Justin has really tapped into some experimental tracks and I feel as if this song is one of the few which should have been a single but wasn’t. Don’t worry though Justin, we’ll enjoy this track ourselves.
