Calling all seniors, calling all seniors! Sorry to all my freshmen, sophomores, and most juniors, but this one just isn’t for you. Alright seniors, and a few juniors, spooky season has arrived, and the big day is just a week away. I’m sure you all have gone lost in corn mazes, took pictures in pumpkin patches, and gotten terrified at haunted houses. With Halloween almost upon us, there is one thing that we all need to stock up on: spooky cocktails! They never go out of style when Halloween come around. They show off your creativity and get everyone into the spooky mood on the spookiest night of the year. Luckily for all of you, I found a great article with many amazing spooky cocktail ideas. While I do not want to stifle anyone’s creativity and ideas they have for drinks, allow me to provide you with my top 5 choices from the list. Don’t worry, I left the article link at the bottom of this blog so that in the case that you don’t like my selection, which I highly doubt, you can draw inspiration from the other drinks.
Without further ado, lets go through them. My first choice on this list is the Grave Digger cocktail. There are two reasons why this was my fist choice. The first is that it is made with whiskey, and anyone that knows me knows that I love bourbon. The second reason is the aesthetics of the drink, which include a small plastic bone hand and fizz that makes a light fog come off it. You heard me, fog! This drink really gives off the graveyard foggy atmosphere that will put you into the Halloween spirit instantly. The next cocktail on the list is the Haunted Graveyard cocktail. As you may have guessed, this drink is also whiskey based but can you blame me? In all seriousness, this drink is a beautiful orange color that makes you feel the October spirit more than a pumpkin spice latte. This is because of the maple syrup and fresh orange, which sounds delicious. On top of that, they added a rosemary stem that they lit to burn! I love this because it adds an extra level of eeriness to the drink that makes you feel like you’re in a haunted environment. The next drink on our list is the Black Widow Smash. Of all the cocktails I’m covering on this list, this one is definitely the spookiest. This is because this drink is almost entirely black. Using muddled blackberries and tequila, this is a great eerie autumnal drink for any tequila lovers. On top of that, just like the Haunted Graveyard, it has a smoking rosemary stem to add creepiness. I will definitely be making this one in a week’s time. Number 4 on our list is the Witch’s Heart cocktail. This one is honestly just more cool than creepy. Made with apple vodka or brandy and blackberry shimmery liqueur, this drink really looks like a witch’s cauldron. In this list, you have seen me liken drinks on the basis of smoking rosemary. Now I’ll do it again, but on the basis of fog. Just like the Grave Digger, the Witch’s Heart gives the option to put powdered dry ice into it. This makes the drink create fog pouring out of it, making it look like a true witch’s cauldron. Very spooky and cool at the same time. The fifth and final drink on our list is the Monster Mash Margaritas. A homage to the Halloween classic, this drink is made with silver tequila and blood orange juice, another great choice for any tequila lovers. With a blood orange slice and a fake eyeball on a stick to top it off, this drink is a fantastic choice if you want to catch Halloween vibes.
That’s all for this list. My name is Roei Gilad, thank you all for reading, please party safely and responsibly, and look out for more of our blogs coming out soon.
